How the costs are made up
How funeral costs are made up
A funeral includes various services and fees, and that is precisely why it is important to us to break down the individual costs transparently and clearly. This way, you always know what to expect.
On this page, we show you step by step which services we take care of for you, which fees are incurred by the cemetery, and which additional options you can choose if you wish.
Please note: In the event of a death at home, there are usually costs for the medical examination of the deceased. These are not covered by statutory health insurance and must therefore be paid by the relatives themselves.

Additional costs
Cemetery fees in Berlin: What additional costs apply?
Cemetery fees are billed directly with the respective cemetery and are not part of our services. The amount of the fees depends on the cemetery, the type of grave selected, and the duration of the right of use.
Depending on the cemetery, costs can vary significantly. Cemeteries in the Berlin surrounding area are often cheaper than cemeteries in central Berlin locations.
We will be happy to advise you on the various options and support you in choosing a suitable grave site.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about funeral costs
How much does a funeral at Atelier Magnolia in Berlin cost in total?
Our services at Atelier Magnolia Bestattungen cost €3,385 to €3,585 depending on the type of funeral. In addition, there are cemetery fees (approx. €700 to €1,600) and, optionally, a funeral service. Total costs are usually between €4,000 and €6,000—depending on your wishes. If you have any questions about costs, simply call us directly: Tel. 01520 958 70 51.
Are funeral costs tax-deductible?
Yes, under certain conditions. If there is no estate or only a small estate, funeral costs of up to €20,000 can be claimed as an extraordinary burden—including the headstone. We still recommend a tax advisor for an individual assessment.
Who pays the funeral costs if there is no money?
Under certain conditions, the Berlin social welfare office can cover the costs. The application is assessed individually. We help you with it—please contact us early: Tel. 01520 958 70 51.
Do you offer instalment payments?
Yes. Just speak to us—the earlier, the better we can find a solution together: Tel. 01520 958 70 51.
How much does an anonymous funeral in Berlin cost?
Our basic package plus an anonymous urn grave comes to around €4,000 to €4,500 depending on the cemetery. Contact us for an exact calculation: Tel. 01520 958 70 51.
How much does a natural burial cost?
That depends on the form chosen. An Oase der Ewigkeit alpine meadow burial starts at €390—plus our funeral costs for collection, cremation, and transfer. Tree burials vary depending on the tree and location.
What is the difference between cremation and burial?
With cremation, the deceased person is cremated and the ashes are interred in an urn. With burial, the coffin is buried directly. Cremation costs a little more with us because it includes the cremation and a hand-thrown urn from our workshop. The grave plot is, however, somewhat cheaper than for burial.
What is included in the cemetery fees?
Cemetery fees include the right of use of the grave site for a certain period—usually 20 to 30 years. They are paid directly to the cemetery and are not part of our invoice. We help you choose the right cemetery and the right type of grave: Tel. 01520 958 70 51.
